History
In ancient times, the old Roman road passed thru the Cestica
Municipality. The road connected the city of Ptuj with the city of
Osijek. Ancient road maps show that there was a settlement called
Ramistra in the same area where Cestica is today., There have been
changes since Roman times in the region. One of the more
significant changes occurred when the Turks occupied the
region. They established a ferry service where one could
cross the Drava River. The name of this place was Brod.
Today, Brod is known for being the international border crossing of
Dubrava Križovljanska.
